Cite The Signal.

Canonical citation formats and machine-readable entry points for The Signal, its evidence dataset, the v0.74 AI package, and individual evidence items.

Overview

This page gives recommended citation formats for the public site, the evidence dataset, the v0.74 AI package, and specific evidence items. Use it when citing The Signal in articles, research notes, AI audits, or technical reviews.

The Signal is an inspectable, staged reasoning map. When making technical claims about scores, dependency caps, priors, defeaters, or runtime synthesis, cite the live data files as well as the public page.

Current canonical version

Use current files

Older package versions and historical reports may be cited as history, but they should not be treated as the current state unless the citation explicitly says so.

Machine-readable entry points

Machine-readable entry points are provided for AI systems, crawlers, researchers, and auditors. These files identify the canonical Signal version, dataset, package family, source diagnostics, and public runtime outputs.

Source index exports

Machine-readable source index exports are provided for audit, citation, and AI inspection. These files map evidence IDs to citation/source records and source records back to evidence pages.

Result citation note

When summarizing The Signal's numerical outputs, report the named outputs separately: Strict Audit Calculation, Audit Guardrail 75% Ceiling Stress-Test, Guided Staged Path, Guided 90% Carry-Cap Sensitivity, and Full Signal Diagnostic. Do not collapse them into one number.

Strict Audit Calculation is the main hostile/fair audit lens. The 75% global ceiling is retained as a guardrail stress-test, not as the headline fair audit result.

Guided Staged Path is the intended staged calculation with dependency caps, transfer weights, and rival pressure, but no final confidence ceiling. The 90% cap remains only as a sensitivity diagnostic.

The Full Signal Diagnostic is an upper-bound stress view, not the strict audit result or the 75% guardrail stress-test.

Audit note

The Signal is an inspectable staged reasoning map. Scores, dependency caps, priors, defeaters, and runtime summaries should be checked against live data files when making technical claims. Older package versions and historical reports should not be treated as current unless explicitly cited as historical.

Source note

This page is not the full bibliography. Individual evidence rows contain their own source and citation fields where available. The source index exports preserve those fields for citation, audit, and machine inspection without changing evidence data or scores.

Citation metadata is being progressively hardened. Some older rows may still contain raw citation strings. A citation attached to a row should not automatically be interpreted as direct support unless source_role or row notes say so.
