Secular humanism can preserve real moral seriousness in public life.

Many secular humanists defend human dignity, justice, public reason, rights, reform, and care for vulnerable people with moral seriousness. That is a genuine strength. The later question is whether those goods are finally grounded or borrowed, but the strength should be named before it is critiqued.
